After Poco F1’ screen bleeding issues, now the recently launched Huawei Mate 20 Pro facing the display bleeding issue. However, it seems a majority of the users are not facing this issue and maybe few of the initial devices were impacted.
The screen bleeding on Mate 20 Pro has reported by many users on the social media. The device appears to face issues when operated in low-light mode or under dark themes or wallpapers. Huawei has addressed this Screen Bleeding issue on Mate 20 Pro and promises free-of-cost replacement. and has asked that owners should take their devices to customized service centers.
As per the reports from users, Mate 20 Pro screen bleeding causes bleeding of the green tint over the display, which also showed up when viewing content with dark colors. There is no clue on how this issue is affecting a smartphone that has not been out in the market for even a month now but the company is speculated to have used LG’s OLED panels for some models of recent models, so it could be the reason. Others believe that the glue within the screen may be drying out, and resulting in color reproduction problems besides the edges.
Huawei has acknowledged this screen bleeding issue and said “The Mate 20 Pro uses an industry-leading flexible OLED screen featuring special design curved edges for an enhanced visual experience and holding comfort. This may lead to slight discolouration when viewed from different angles. In extremely dim lighting conditions, when the screen brightness is too low, or when using dark wallpapers, these differences can be exaggerated. If the colour cast affects your normal use, take your phone to an authorised Customer service Centre for assistance.”
Furthermore, GSMArena reported that Huawei Finland has assured users that those with bleeding displays can get their devices replaced.
