Back in October, the Huawei had launched its new flagship Mate 20 Pro in London and today, the company has launched the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in India at an event in New Delhi.
This is the first phone from the Huawei to run the Kirin 980 processor and sports a 7nm FinFET design. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with several unique features that make using it more enjoyable such as an in-display fingerprint scanner, 3D infrared facial recognition, an L-shaped rear camera configuration as well as reverse charging.

Talking about the specs, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a 6.39-inch QHD+ (1440×3120 pixels) curved OLED display panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 86.9 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the Kirin 980 processor and the company claims that this latest chip will ensure a lower dip in performance, as the performance and NPU enhancements can be boosted without affecting the battery performance.
In the camera department, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro features triple rear camera setup. The device has three Leica-branded cameras on the back – a wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide angles lens, and a telephoto lens. This triple camera setup consists of a 40MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP 3-times telephoto zoom lens with OIS and f/2.2 aperture. The company claims that this device can shoot images at an ISO of up to 102400.
As we mentioned earlier, this phone also comes with an in-display screen fingerprint scanner for fast unlocking. Moreover, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. There is an infrared sensor on the notch, that enables the device’s 3D Face Unlock feature.
Coming to the battery and charging, this phone is backed by a massive 4200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge support. According to the company , 40W fast-charging will charge the phone from 0% to 70% in just 30 minutes, and 15W wireless charging. This smartphone also has a unique reverse wireless charging facility.
The device runs on Huawei’s proprietary EMUI 9.0, based on Android 9.0 Pie. The Mate 20 Pro is the first phone from the Huawei to run Android 9.0.
