Huawei is Hinting that it will Reveal its Long-awaited Foldable Phone

| By DWR Editor

Huawei had previously confirmed that it will launch a foldable 5G smartphone soon. Later, the company hinted that the foldable phone could be unveiled at the MWC 2019 event. Now, Huawei has shared a press invite on Twitter for an event at 2 PM CET (6:30 PM IST) on February 24 in Barcelona. The scheduled date is just a day ahead of MWC 2019 event. The invite image shows a foldable phone, which gives us a small hint about the design of the phone.

The press invites shared by Huawei twitter handle shows a V-shape silhouette suggests the phone bent outwards from the middle with the caption “Come with us to explore #ConnectingTheFuture LIVE from #MWC @GSMA. Are you ready to reveal the unprecedented? #HuaweiMWC #MWC2019“.

Surprisingly, the design that is in the tweet image is somewhat similar to the 3D renders of the phone that were shared earlier by 91mobiles. The images reveal the Huawei’s foldable smartphone with a near edge-to-edge screen with a punch-hole that houses front camera. The back frame of the phone seems to feature hinges at the middle that would let you fold screen into two halves.

However, except some hints, the tweet doesn’t reveal any other information about the Huawei’s foldable 5G smartphone. It only says “CONNECT THE FUTURE”, but looking at the invite post we can say that the company is going to unveil the foldable smartphone because the image shows a hinge in the middle and both the sides are lit up like two screens.

Talking about the specifications, Huawei earlier confirmed that the first foldable smartphone will support the 5G network. The device will have 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset coupled with Blong 5000 5G modem. The device is expected to feature an impressive 8-inch display for tablet mode and 5-inch for the smartphone.
