Honor V40 5G debuts in China with Dimensity 1000+ SoC, 50MP triple cameras

Huawei has announced the new Honor V40 5G smartphone in its home-country China. Priced at 3599 yuan (approx. Rs 40,620), the phone comes with 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. There is also a top-model with 8GB RAM with 256G storage priced at 3999 yuan (roughly Rs 45,135) Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, and Rose gold are three color variants of the phone.

Honor V40 5G Specifications

The Honor V40 5G is fitted with a 6.72-inch OLED screen that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 1236 x 2676 pixels. The display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 800 nits brightness. The phone features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The latest MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset is the driving force of the Honor V40 5G. The chipset is accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It has an inbuilt UFS 2.1 storage of 128GB/256GB. 

A 4,000mAh capacity battery that is enabled with 66W fast charging support fuels the new phone from Huawei. The 65W fast charging tech can charge up to 60% in 15 minutes and 50W wireless charging technology. Honor V40 5G is preloaded with the latest Magic UI 4.0 based on dated Android 10.

The quad-rear camera on the backside of the Honor V40 5G features a 50-megapixel camera with a 1/1.56″ RYYB Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.  It has a front camera of 16-megapixel.

The usual connectivity features like 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C, and NFC are available on the smartphone. Honor V40 weighs 186 grams and has a slim profile of 8.04mm only.
