Honor V40 5G officially confirmed to launch on January 18

Huawei is ready to launch a new smartphone lineup called the Honor V40. There are multiple models in this series expected to debut in the new ‘V40’ series. Honor has started teasing the launch of its upcoming smartphone – Honor V40 5G – on January 18. The brand has now officially confirmed it to be the official launch date for the smartphone on Weibo.

The teaser image suggests that Honor V40 5G will sport a curved display for the phone. It also reveals that the phone will come with dual punch-hole cameras.

Honor V40 5G Specifications

The Honor V40 5G is said to debut with a 6.72-inch OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 1236 x 2676 pixels resolution, 1.07 billion colours, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. 

The device will ship with 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 storage configuration. It will come pre-loaded with Android 10 OS-based Magic UI 4.0 skin. It is said to come with a battery that supports 66W fast charging support and 45W fast wireless charging technology

Also, the handset is expected to ship with a quad-lens rear camera setup with a combination of a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX766 lens or a 64-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. It will have a front camera of 32-megapixel.

Honor V40 5G measures 163.32 x 74.08 x 7.85mm and weighs around 184 grams. We will have to wait for the company to give out some details on the hardware as well ahead of the official launch on January 18.
