Honor to Launch Honor 9i (9X) on 24th July in India

Honor has sent out invites of a launch event in India scheduled on July 24, where the Huawei sub-brand Honor could likely release Honor 9i (2018). The company has sent ‘block your date’ invites which read as ‘#No Ordinary Beauty’ but does not give any other details about the new smartphone. But the launch event invite by Honor has the words ‘No Ordinary Beauty’ in Blue and Purple colors. Furthermore, a GIF shared by the Honor has a two ‘O’s hinting that the upcoming phone might feature a dual camera setup.

The same device was launched in China in April of this year as an upgrade of the Indian variant which was released earlier in October 2017. But some rumors claim that the Honor 9i will be rebranded for the Indian market as Honor 9X.

Coming to the specifications of the device, the smartphone features a 5.84 inch IPS LCD FullHD+ display in an 18:9 ratio with 1080 x 2160 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 658 chipset and runs on the EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The device is available in 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage variant and it can be expanded up to 128 GB through a microSD card. The Honor 9i (2018) houses a 3,400mAh battery, and the likely to receive Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology. This new model comes with a metal frame and has a mirror-finish back, and expected to release in more than three color options.

Coming to the camera department, the Honor 9i seems to have dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, along with an LED flash.

The Honor 9i (2018) price in China is CNY 1,399 that is around Rs. 14,600 in India for the 64GB storage variant, while its 128GB option is available with a price tag of CNY 1,699 (Approximately Rs. 17,800).
