Honor 8X with almost bezel-less display goes official in India, Starting at Rs 14,999

Huawei’s subbrand Honor which is first inline smartphone from Chinese electronics and telecommunications has finally launched its much-awaited Honor 8X smartphone in India. This smartphone went official in China last month. The latest midrange smartphone with a giant display is aggressively priced starting of Rs. 14,999. The new Honor 8X, which is the direct successor to the widely popular Honor 7X, packs in a mid-range Kirin 710 chipset from Huawei along with up to 6 GB RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage.

The device will go on sale through Amazon India on 24 October, and will also be on sale through the Honor India e-store. The smartphone will be available in three RAM/storage variants and in blue, black and red colours. The 4/64GB variant has been priced at Rs. 14,999, while the 6GB/64GB variant has a Rs 16,999 price tag. The top-end 128GB variant with 6GB RAM has been priced at Rs. 18,999. And at this aggressive price, the device hits all the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi Mi A2, Motorola One Power and Nokia 6.1 Plus, to name a few. And this is definitely worthy handset at such a price segment which sports an improved design.

Honor 8X Specifications and Features

The device features an impressive 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a small notch up top, minimal bezels on either side and a rather small chin. Thanks to the narrow bezels which makes the device look as all screen design and the Honor claims that screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. On the software side, The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, with EMUI 8.2 on top, and also has a 3,750mAh battery. The phone has dedicated slots for two SIMs as well as a microSD card for expandable storage.

The device ticks all by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, and comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with the starting variant sporting 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

In the camera department, the Honor 8X features a 20MP f/1.8 + 2MP dual camera setup on the back, along with an impressive 16MP selfie shooter up front. Going with the latest smartphone trends when it comes to design and builds quality, the Honor 8X features a premium glass sandwich design with a sturdy metal frame supporting the layers of glass on the front and back.

Connectivity features on the Honor 8X include a micro USB port for charging and data syncing, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.2 low-energy
