Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei is prepping up to launch the successor of Honor 7A called Honor 8A on Jan 8. The new smartphone teaser was posted on the Weibo account revealing its launch date. The Honor 8A will be unveiled in an event held in China on Jan 8. Along with the launch details, the poster also revealed the key details of the new smartphone that boasts an octa-core chipset, a teardrop notch on the fascia and 64GB of built-in storage.
In recent times there are three smartphones gone through TENNA certification, Where later one is confirmed as Honor 8A and revealed official renders of the device. The renders show the phone could come in two colors : blue and black.
The upcoming smartphone could flaunt a 6.09-inch IPS display with a tall aspect ratio and a resolution of 1560 x 720px with teardrop notch. On the back, it appears to have a glossy finish and expected to be plastic hood. The device unlike Honor 7A it comes with a single camera setup. which includes a 13MP primary snapper and an 8MP selfie shooter. However, the TENAA listing suggested the lack of a fingerprint reader, which indicates that the phone will come with the face unlock technology.
The device is said to ship with EMUI 9.0 (Android 9.0 Pie) powered by MediaTek Helio P35 at the heart and come in either 32GB or 64GB variants with 3GB of RAM. For running out storage there is an expandable option with a dedicated microSD slot to expand up to an additional 256GB. The smartphone is backed up by a 3,050 mAh battery.
As far as weight and dimensions are concerned, the website mentions that the Honor 8A will measure 156.28 x 73.5 x 8mm, and tip the scale at 150g.
