HMD Global schedules a event on December 5 expected to launch 3 new models

HMD Global announced yesterday about an event hosting on December 5 to unveil three new smartphones. The company will host an exclusive launch event in Dubai for the same that was confirmed by the chief product officer Juho Sarvikas on Twitter by a tagline #expectmore. While he didn’t reveal the model names in his tweet.
The company is expected to introduce Nokia 9, successor of the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 8 Sirocco at the event along with the Nokia 8.1 that will likely be the global version of the Nokia X7 that was introduced in China last month and the Nokia 2.1 Plus, successor of the Nokia 2.1 Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone that was introduced earlier this year.

The Nokia X7 is expected to be launched in India, However the final model name yet to be confirmed. It could be called the Nokia 7.1 Plus or 8.1 Plus in India. Speaking of specs, The Nokia X7 offers a Carl Zeiss branded camera and there is a dual camera setup with a primary 12-megapixel sensor, and There is a 13-megapixel secondary camera sensor at the back with fixed focus. On the front, the smartphone sports a single 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. There is a 3,500mAh battery. Under the hood, The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, coupled with 4GB/ 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/ 128GB of eMMC inbuilt storage. While the device sports a customized UI in China, the Nokia 7.1 plus will most likely be launched as an Android One Phone in other parts of the world including India featuring stock Android Oreo OS.

Nokia 9 is said to feature a 5-camera lens on the back arranged in 1-1-3 formation, one LED flash, an unknown sensor on a circular ring. It might feature 3D face unlock or go for an in-display fingerprint sensor, pack a 5.9-inch Quad HD OLED screen, Snapdragon 845, up to 8GB of RAM and OZO audio. HMD Global recently acquired ‘PureView’ brand, that Microsoft acquired right after the purchase of Nokia’s Devices and Services business back in the day, so there are chances for PureView to come back with the Nokia 9.
