As part of the release of Android 9 Pie, we’re introducing a brand new Go edition experience. Pie (Go edition) includes up to an additional 500MB of storage available out of the box, faster device boot times, top-of-the-line security features like the verified boot and an accessible dashboard for tracking and monitoring data consumption,” wrote Sagar Kamdar, director of product management, Android.

Android 9 Pie, was released earlier this August and rolled out for Google devices and Essential phones on the day of release. Now the Android Pie update available for several phones from different vendors. Previously we’ve posted the list of devices getting Android Pie update. The new Android 9.0 Pie has various new features including the gesture-based navigation, Digital WellBeing, and many other features. It seems the Android Go Edition will only focus on improving the performance aspect of the entry-level phones by minimizing RAM and storage usage instead of all Android Pie features.
