Chinese brand Gionee has unveiled a new budget smartphone in China, dubbed as Gionee K6. Surprisingly, the device runs an outdated Android 7.1 Nougat operating system which was launched in 2017.

Gionee K6 is priced at 799 Yuan (approx. Rs 8,440) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs 899 Yuan (approx. Rs 9,500). It is available in two color options: Fantasy Blue and Starry Sky Black.

Coming to the specifications, the Gionee K6 features a 6.2-inch display with an HD+ screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC paired with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 12GB of internal storage. The storage is further expandable using a microSD card slot.
As for the camera setup, it comes with a 13-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies and video calling. On the backside, the device features a triple camera setup that includes a 16-megapixel primary lens. Unfortunately, the details of the other sensors are not known at the moment.
The smartphone runs the outdated Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The device is powered by a 4,350mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and micro USB port.
