First Mediatek-powered Redmi 5G smartphone benchmarked on Geekbench

Xiaomi’s upcoming 5G smartphone with model numbers M2004J7AC and M2004J7BC has been tested on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Both the handset is been powered by MediaTek SoC. Both the devices are tested with motherboard names ‘atom’ and ‘bomb’ respectively.

The Geekbench listing does not mention the exact name of the chipset that will be powering it. It shows both the devices are powered by the MediaTek MT6875 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. This chipset could be the recently announced Dimensity 800 or the yet to announce Dimensity 820.

On a single-core test, the device with model number M2004J7AC has scored 628 points. In the multi-core test, it has scored 2415 points. The device with M2004J7BC, achieved a single-core score of 640 and a multi-core score of 2645. 

Recently, the same device with model number M2004J7AC was spotted on TENAAand revealed its entire specifications. As per the TENAA listing, it has a 6.57-inch OLED display with FHD+ 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. The screen will have a dew-drop notch and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. On the rear, the phone would pack a triple camera setup. It will launch with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage with a microSD card slot for further expansion of storage. A 4,420 mAh battery will fuel the entire device with 22.5W fast charging support.
