OnePlus recently launched the much-anticipated OnePlus 6T with several updates to what was already one of the best phones of 2018. It is the company’s first phone with In-display fingerprint scanner.
Now, some OnePlus 6T users have reported issues with their display. It seems, some units are having a strange static/flicker on the display that seemingly happens out of the blue and this appears to affect a small number of users.
A user uploaded a video of his OnePlus 6T where it shows the display of the OnePlus 6T where towards the end of the video, you’ll notice a weird static/flicker on the display.
It isn’t clear what’s the cause of the problem but it was speculated that they are either using the facial recognition system or the in-display fingerprint sensor, with the problem generally appearing at the lock screen (still, this isn’t always the case). Factory resets don’t seem to be able to solve the issue so it seems like this could be a possible hardware issue rather than a software one. There is a possibility that the issue could be associated with only a few units of OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus is yet to comment on this issue officially, we hope the company is already aware of it. If you’re facing this issue on your OnePlus 6T then its better to take it to a local service center or exchange it.
