Earlier this year, Social media giant Facebook announced that a new update of Messenger app is on the way with simplified design. Now the new update has been released to some users with the new interface and dark mode.
“When you’re messaging, you really want a simple and fast experience. We’re taking this moment to completely redesign Messenger to focus on these ideas,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had said while announcing the redesigned Messenger app at the company’s F8 2018 Conference in May.
The new update of the Messenger app brings only three bottom options: conversations, contacts, and an explore tab, while the camera and new chat button have been moved to the top right corner. Features like games, businesses, and more have been moved to a third Explore tab. Moreover, the chat screen in the Messenger app has also changed. The customizable chat colors are still there, but the interface looks cleaner than the previous versions.
However, according to AndroidPolice report, the new update had not been updated via the Play Store and it came as a server-side change for some users. So, users have to wait for Facebook to make this update official and start pushing it out to every user.
