Entry-Level Honor 8S Passes EEC Certification, Launch Imminent?

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is preparing to launch a new entry-level smartphone named Honor 8S in the upcoming few days. The device appeared on the major certification agency, EEC. The listing indicates the launch of the said smartphone is around the corner.

The report lists the Honor 8S as a model KSA-LX9 and along with the Honor 8S, EEC has also approved certification to the JAT-L41 variant of the Honor 8A Pro.

Although the EEC certification, did not reveal much, the certification has revealed only the marketing name of the smartphone. As it is the successor of Honor 7S, the device is likely to arrive with a few minor upgrades. The Honor 8S is likely to launch with a taller aspect ratio and a notch at the top of the display. It is expected to ship with the EMUI 9.0 skin on the top which is based on the latest Android 9.0 out of the box. While not much is known about the smartphone yet, it is expected to house a 4000mAh battery and latest processor. Huawei might launch the device in two memory configurations: 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage.

To recall, Huawei unveiled the Honor 7S in the month of May last year. The Honor 7S sports a 5.45-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) with an 18:9 aspect ratio, runs EMUI on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC. It has a non-removable 3,020mAh battery, single rear camera of a 13-megapixel primary and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Honor 7S comes with a single storage and RAM variant with 16 GB internal storage, 2 GB RAM.
