BlackBerry Evolve, Evolve X shown in teaser video ahead of official launch tomorrow

Optiemus Infracom, the company with a license to sell Blackberry devices in India is all set to launch its BlackBerry Evolve and BlackBerry Evolve X tomorrow. The company was initially rumoured to launch the Evolve and Evolve X in the country, and now it has officially confirmed those names with a product teaser.

These two devices are codenamed as  ‘Ghost’ and ‘Ghost Pro’ and will feature bezel-less display design. Optiemus Infracom, which the licensing deal with BlackBerry to sell devices in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh, had launched the Key2 on the previous month. The teaser confirms a few things that both Evolve and Evolve X will feature a metal unibody design, and probably a metal back as opposed to the industry trend of glass back.  Along with this, both devices are expected to feature displays with taller 18:9 aspect ratio which trending in all smartphones across all price segment.

In addition, the teaser also reveals that the back of the smartphones will sport a dual camera setup, a fingerprint sensor, and the BlackBerry logo. The right of the handset will house the lock/ power key and volume controls. According to the leaks renders that this camera will support optical image stabilization, and will be equipped with a low-light enhancement for better photography. There is also a ring-shaped fingerprint scanner at the back right above the dotted branding, and this blackberry device would be preferably the first smartphone to house the fingerprint scanner at the back.

Both devices are packed up with a huge 4,000mAh battery and expected to run on Android. The teaser doesn’t reveal much about the camera setup and specifications of the device. There are reports of Evolve and Evolve X being launched as Ghost and Ghost Pro respectively for the global market.

Meanwhile, the BlackBerry KEY2 was launched in India late last month at a price of Rs. 42,990.The handset sports a 4.5-inch full-HD panel with a physical QWERTY keyboard on the bottom. Other highlights of the handset include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, a dual rear camera setup with two 12-megapixel sensors, and a fingerprint sensor placed on the spacebar key.
