BlackBerry launched their mid-range Evolve series with premium features. It has a massive display, dual-camera, and wireless charging. It has almost everything except the physical keyboard that we’ve seen in BlackBerry Key2. Here’s specifications, features, first impressions, and everything you need to know about BlackBerry Evolve & Evolve X.

BlackBerry Evolve X design

While the recently leaked Blackberry Key2 features a built-in physical keyboard, the new BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X are considerably different. BlackBerry Evolve Series Flip around the phone and you will see a soft touch back panel that reminds you of past age BlackBerry phones.

Both the Evolve and Evolve X feature fingerprint sensors at the rear and BlackBerry claims that users will be able to unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds. Moreover, the device is said to support the Wireless charging feature.

BlackBerry Evolve & Evolve X Specifications and Features

BlackBerry Evolve series has a 5.99-inch Full HD Plus 18:9 display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Even though the Evolve and Evolve X opt for the same design, they are somewhat different in terms of hardware capabilities. The Evolve X is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, while Blackberry Evolve powered by a lower-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. Evolve is coupled with just 4 GB of RAM while the Evolve X has 6GB of RAM. Still, both the devices come with the same onboard storage of 64GB along with expandability up to 256GB through the MicroSD card.

On the back side, both Evolve and Evolve X has a fingerprint scanner. Moreover, these two phones have a facial recognition feature to unlock the smartphone along with the fingerprint scanner.

BlackBerry Evolve & Evolve X – Performance and Battery

Both Evolve and Evolve X backs 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. These two phones run on the Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. BlackBerry promised to give more security and privacy features like the DTEK app that guarantees an extra layer of security and a new “Locker” app that allows you hide certain apps, documents, and media.

BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X – Cameras

As far as the camera is concerned the blackberry Evolve has a pair of vertically stacked 13-megapixels camera and Evolve X features vertically stacked 12-megapixels + 13-megapixels dual-camera setup on the rear. For selfies and video-calls, both phones have the same 16-megapixel camera with fixed focus and selfie flash. Evolve and Evolve X packs a new camera UI, and the Evolve owns an RGB + monochrome sensor whereas the Evolve X is getting a telephoto shooter for the secondary lens.

BlackBerry Evolve & Evolve X – Pricing and availability

The BlackBerry Evolve will be available with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and the price tag of the Evolve will be Rs. 24,990 in India ($365). Whereas, the Evolve X with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will be available at Rs. 34,990 ($510). The Evolve set to be available in August, while the Evolve X will be exclusive to Amazon India and expected to enter the market in September.
