Black Shark 4S series launched with pressure sensitive display: Check details

Black Shark has introduced two new smartphones in China, including the 4S Pro and 4S. Here is everything you need to know about the new lineup.Blackshark 4s Series

Black Shark 4S and the 4S Pro Pricing, Availability

There are three colours available for the Black Shark 4S: Black, White, and Gundam Limited Edition. It comes in four variants.

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – ¥2,699 (roughly Rs 31,500)
  • 12GB RAM + 128GB storage – ¥2,999 (roughly Rs 35,000)
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – ¥3,299 (roughly Rs 38,600)
  • Gundam Limited Edition (12GB RAM + 256GB storage) – ¥3,499 (roughly Rs 40,900)

Black and white are the available color options of the Black Shark 4S Pro. 

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – ¥4,799 (roughly Rs 56,100)
  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage – ¥5,499 (roughly Rs 64,300)

In China, both smartphones are already available for pre-order, and they will be available from October 15 in the country.

Black Shark 4S and the 4S Pro Specifications

Black Shark 4S and the 4S Pro are fitted with a 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, DCI-P3 colour gamut, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 720Hz touch sampling rate. It also features MEMC technology, DC Dimming, and a brightness of 1300 nits. This display also has two zones of pressure sensitivity (as in the amount of pressure applied, not just touch-sensitive), that can be integrated into games that can support it.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 Plus processor powers the 4S Pro, which is equipped with an Adreno 660 GPU for graphics processing. Meanwhile, the vanilla 4S uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 processor. In addition, the Black Shark 4S Pro comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage that is paired with an SSD Disk Array System on the more expensive variant. The vanilla 4S comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In terms of the camera, Black Shark 4S Pro offers a triple camera setup that includes a  64-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, HDR support, and 8-megapixel f/2.2 wide-angle lens with 120-degree FoV, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It comes with a 20-megapixel front camera with an aperture of f/2.4. 

Black Shark 4S has a 48-megapixel primary sensor in its triple-rear camera module, while its other camera sensors remain unchanged.

JoyUI 12.8, which is based on Xiaomi’s MIUI, runs on both phones and they have side-mounted fingerprint scanners. A 4500mAh battery powers the Black Shark 4S series, along with 120W fast charging. On the side of the phones, you will also find dedicated mechanical buttons that you can access sliding the locks away to let them pop up.

The Black Shark 4S series provides a wide range of connectivity options, including dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
