Xiaomi launches Black Shark 4 series: price, specifications and availability

Black Shark 4 series has officially been launched in China as the successor to last year’s Black Shark 3 lineup. Let’s take a brief look at the specifications, features, pricing, and availability of the Black Shark 4 lineup.

Both the smartphones are currently up for pre-order in China and their first sale is scheduled for March 26 in the country.

Black Shark 4 Specifications

The vanilla Black Shark 4 flaunts a 6.67-inch Samsung E4 material AMOLED gaming screen. This display supports a 144Hz ultra-high refresh rate, 720Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate 8.3ms multi-finger touch response delay, 1,300 nits peak brightness, DC Dimming, MEMC, and 111% DCI-P3 color gamut. The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It features a 4,5000mAh battery coupled with a 120W fast charging. The smartphone takes only 5 minutes to charge the battery to 50%, and it can get a full charge within 15 minutes. On the software front, the Black Shark 4 runs JOYUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out-of-the-box. 

In terms of cameras, the Black Shark 4 offers a primary 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor coupled with 8MP 120° ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP auto-focus macro camera. For selfies, the Black Shark 4 sports a 20MP front shooter. 

Some of the other features that the Black Shark 4 includes are two USB Type-C ports, dual-SIM, 5G (only single SIM at a time), WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, Beidou, QZSS, A-GPS), NFC, among others. It measures 163.83 x 76.35 x 9.9mm and weighs 210 grams.

On the hardware front, the Black Shark 4 Pro comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It is coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. 

Black Shark 4 Pro has triple cameras on the back that consists of a primary 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, 8MP 120° ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP auto-focus macro camera. For selfies, the Black Shark 4 Pro includes a 20MP camera on the front.

It is backed by a 4,5000mAh battery paired with 120W fast charging support in the box. It takes only 5 minutes to charge the battery to 50%, and it can get a full charge within 15 minutes.
