Black Shark 3S set to launch on July 31

According to new information, Black Shark 3S will launch in China on July 31. This will be the upgraded version to the Black Shark 3, which was launched back in March. The company has taken to Weibo to announce that the Black Shark 3S will be launched in China on July 31 at 3:00 PM (local time).

Yesterday, we reported that the Black Shark 3S gaming smartphone was teased by the CEO Luo Yuzhou. Today, the company has made the official announcement regarding the launch date. No other details have been revealed regarding the device. The phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s recently launched  Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. It is also said to be coming with an S-AMOLED screen with higher refresh rate support.

Black Shark 3 Specifications

To recall, Black Shark 3 launched earlier this year with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 394ppi, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. The display covers 105 percent of DCI-P3 color gamut and a peak brightness of 500 nits. 

It is fuelled by the 2.84GHz octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU. Further, the handset is paired with 8GB LPDDR4x dual channel/12GB LPDDR5 dual-channel RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The device boots Android 10-based JOY UI. 

In terms of optics, it has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel sensor secondary sensor with an f/2.25 aperture. There is also a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2. On the front, you get a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The device supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax ), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset also sports an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The device gets juice from a 4,720mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. However, the 8GB + 128GB model of the phone comes with a 30W charger. There is also a magnetic charging connector on the back that is capable of 18W charging. It is 168.72×77.33×10.42mm in size and weighs 222 grams.
