Xiaomi will unveil its Black Shark smartphone– Black Shark 2 Pro– at an event in China on July 30. Few days ahead of its official launch, the phone has been spotted on Geekbench. The listing on the benchmarking site has revealed that the Black Shark 2 Pro will sport 12 RAM and run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor.
The Black Shark 2 Pro has been found listed on Geekbench with the black shark DLT-A0. The listing reveals that the phone will be powered by an octa-core processor featuring a clock speed of 1.78GHz. The handset will be fuelled by “msmnile” (a motherboard name) a code-name shared by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and the Snapdragon 855+ processor. The phone will pack in a massive 12GB of RAM under the hood. The device will run Android 9 Pie out of the box. As per the listing, Black Shark 2 Pro has scored 3632 and 11304 points on single-core and multi-core testing.
If the upcoming Black Shark 2 Pro fuels Snapdragon 855+ SoC then this will be another phone to be powered by the latest chipset. Taiwanese brand Asus already confirmed to launch ROG Phone 2 on July 23 and it will be fuelled by Snapdragon 855+. Chinese smartphone maker Nubia also gearing up to launch Nubia Red Magic 3 variant that will be powered by the Snapdragon 855+. Moreover, another Chinese brand Realme also confirmed to launch Snapdragon 855+ chipset powered phone this year.

To recall, the company recently launched the Black Shark 2 smartphone in India with a price tag of Rs 39,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant while the premium variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rs 49,999. Black Shark 2 Pro will be the third smartphone from the Xiaomi-backed company after Black Shark and Black Shark 2.
