Asus ZenFone Ares With 8GB RAM, QHD Display Launched: Price, Specifications

 The Taiwanese mobile maker, Asus had quietly launched its new Asus ZenFone Ares in Taiwan Yesterday. As of now, there is no information whether it is available in India or not. The new smartphone comes with AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) with specs almost identical to last year’s ZenFone AR.

The handset additionally includes SonicMaster 3.0 Hi-Res Audio 384 kHz audio decoder and supports DTS Headphone with 7.1 channel support.

Asus ZenFone Ares: Price and availability

The phone is priced at TWD 9,990 (Rs 22,700 approx) in Taiwan. The phone is up for pre-order on Taiwanese retailer PC Home. Whether the phone will make it to global markets, including India is unclear at this point.

The Asus Zenfone Ares features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and QHD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The display panel has a Tru2life technology to enable VR experiences and comes with an oil-repellent coating.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 8GB RAM. The phone offers 128GB internal UFS 2.0 storage which is further expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card slot.

For Asus Zunfone Ares Snappers, It sports a 23-megapixel camera sensor on the back with Asus’ high-res PixelMaster 3.0 technology on top and a f/2.0 aperture. The camera also features motion tracking and depth sensing to enable Augmented Reality Experience. Up front, the smartphone sports an 8 MP sensor.

The Zenfone Ares runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box. Fueling the device is a 3,300mAh battery, which comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
