Asus ROG Phone Survives JerryRigEverthing’s Scratch and Bend Test

| By DWR Editor

The Asus ROG phone has recently been announced in India as Rs. 69,99. Now the popular Youtuber JerryRig found that the Asus ROG can easily withstand scratches and bend. In a typical scratch test of JerryRig, he found the ROG Phone starts scratching at level 6 in Moh’s hardness scale, with deeper grooves appearing at level 7. But it’s very impressive that Asus supports a 90 Hz refresh rate without adding effects to 6-inch AMOLED screens. Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2 are the only smartphones that supporting higher refresh rate of 120Hz but they use LCD panels instead of AMOLED panels.

In the durability test, Zack found that the front and rear cameras of the Asus ROG phone were covered with glass, which protects the device from knives and keys. The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor also protected by glass. The top, bottom and side panels of the Asus ROG phone are made of metal, and the plastic grille has an orange grid that does not easily fall out.

In the flame test on a 6-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, a white dot appears after 32 seconds. As mentioned above, the phone passed the bend test, but was slightly bent. In the video, YouTuber also tears down the AeroActive Cooler accessory which latches onto the back of the phone and is said to lower the temperature of the device by up to 4.7 degrees. The back panel is made of plastic, which Zack claims is the one of the worst thermally conductive materials.

To recall, the Asus ROG phone has a 6-inch AMOLED display that renders pictures at a resolution of FHD+ (1080×2160) pixels in an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a pixel density of 402 ppi protected by Gorilla Glass 6. The device ticks all by bearing flagship processor Snapdragon 845 chip boosted up to 2.96GHz and aided by an Adreno 630 GPU. The ROG Phone comes with 8GB of RAM as standard. The ROG Phone comes with either 128GB or 512GB of storage. There’s no expandable storage on offer. There’s a 12MP + 8MP dual camera setup and an 8MP camera on the front.
