ASUS ROG Phone 3 new 12GB + 128GB variant announced, sales start on October 16

ASUS ROG Phone 3 has received a new variant in India that packs 12GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The new variant sits alongside the existing 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage that was launched in the country in late July with a price tag of Rs 49,999 and Rs 57,999, respectively.

This new variant packs similar specifications as observed in other variants of the ROG Phone 3. The only change that users will notice is the 12GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The ASUS ROG Phone 3 price is set at Rs 52,999 for the newly launched 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The new model of the ROG Phone 3 will go on sale in the Indian market from October 16 through Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale.

Asus ROG Phone 3 Specifications 

The Asus ROG Phone 3 comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and also support for 144Hz refresh rate with 270Hz touch sampling rate and 25ms touch latency.

The Asus ROG Phone 3 has Snapdragon 865+ SoC under its hood with Adreno 650 graphics and it is the first device to come with this processor. The SoC is coupled with 8GB/12GB/16GB of RAM. For storage, the handset features an inbuilt space of 128GB/256GB and it lacks a microSD card slot. The phone ships with Android 10 OS-based ROG UI out of the box.

The device includes a massive 6000mAh battery. Through USB-C, the phone carries support for 30W fast charging. The Asus ROG Phone 3 features a selfie camera of 24-megapixels.

The triple camera setup on the rear has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary lens, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The rear cameras are capable of shooting 8K videos at 30fps using the primary camera, 4K HDR videos at 30/60fps, full HD at 30/60 fps, Time Lapse in 4K, FHD, and HD resolution. For the front, there is a 24-megapixel selfie shooter. 

The phone has the latest GameCool 3 heat dissipating system. It features a 6X larger heatsink, a redesigned Copper 3D vapor chamber, and a larger graphite film. It delivers a good gaming experience with a stable temperature.

The device also features enhanced audio experience with Game FX – Audio. It comes with 7 magnets for power and less distortion. The company has partnered with Dirac to enhance audio performance.

There is also an enhanced touch-sensitive Ultrasonic bumper/shoulder buttons with haptic feedback. It supports both slidings, swiping, and the possibility to divide each button into two partitions for tapping. Resulting in up to four shoulder triggers. AirTrigger 3 also features a single shake to control on-screen input, giving you a total of 5 additional actions that are comfortable to use. AirTrigger 3 can be used even when not gaming. With a simple long- or short- “squeeze” in portrait mode you can activate customizable and useful actions.

Other features of the phone are Air Triggers, dual USB Type-C ports, dual front-firing speakers, the glowing ROG logo at the back, X-mode, etc.
