Asus ROG Phone 2 Launched: Key Specs, Features, Price

After several leaks and rumors, Asus finally launched the ROG Phone 2. This new phone is a successor to the last year’s ROG Phone. The all-new ROG Phone 2 brings AMOLED display, new powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, and dual rear cameras, among other things.

Asus ROG Phone 2 Specifications

The Asus ROG Phone 2 comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with Adreno 640 GPU at its core. It is coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

For immense gaming experience, the handset has front-facing stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support. The speakers come with larger chambers and are reportedly twice as loud as the ones found on the ROG Phone. The device has a 3.5mm audio jack. There are four microphones on board, as well as specially placed antennas that streaming is seamless. The ROG Phone 2 will also come with a bunch of gaming accessories. These include the likes of the Kunai Gamepad, TwinView Dock II, AirTriggers, and more. There is also a 3D vapor chamber feature on the handset to maintain performance (reduce throttling) while gaming. Since the heat is redirected outside the phone, the company includes the second generation AeroActive Cooler II in the box.

For photography, the device gets two cameras on the rear. It comprises of 48-megapixel Quad Bayer sensor along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. In the front, there is a 24-megapixel selfie shooter.

On the software front, it runs Android 9 Pie OS and is backed by a 6000mAh battery with 30W ROG HyperCharge as well as Quick Charge 4.0.

Asus ROG Phone 2 Price and Availability

Talking about the price, the Taiwanese brand yet to announce the price of the Asus ROG Phone 2. The Chinese variant goes on sale July 23rd while the worldwide model will be available in the first week of September. Thus, the exact price details of the smartphone are not known for now.
