After the explosion of the Samsung smartphones, now Apple’s First-ever iPhone XS Max explosion reported in Ohio. This incident happened a few weeks ago, but this time it was publicized only because iPhone XS Max user wanted to get Apple’s attention. But now, a lawsuit against Apple is being considered by the owner because there is no response to this case from Apple.
“Josh Hillard from Columbus, Ohio reported to iDrop News that on December 12, while on lunch break at work, he noticed a strange smell coming from the back pocket of his pants. He then felt intense heat that burned his skin, followed by green and yellow smoke.”
Josh Hillard claims his iPhone XS Max was in his rear trouser pocket when it randomly began to discharge “a large amount of heat”, as well as green and yellow colored smoke.
Hillard had to find a private space to take off his shoes and clothes, because he did not feel well removing his pants in the presence of a female co-worker in the break room.
Then Hillard took his burnt iphone and went to the nearest Apple Store, but the Apple Store staff did not have enough response and control. He said that he spent almost 20 minutes with an employee. After 40 minutes, an employee took the phone into the back room. Finding the manager and calling the manager, he returned with a phone call. They told Hillard that the phone had to be sent to the technical team, and that was the only way to change the phone.
The victim then contacted the Apple care line, but the senior specialist of the company asked for details, including images of the unit and any injury, if there were any.
The next day, Hillard spoke with Apple Care Manager. Apple Care Manager was able to replace only the iPhone XS Max. But Hilard needs compensation for his damaged things and the incurred injury. So, Hillard filed a lawsuit against Apple due to the lackluster response to the incident.
This is first time we heard about the accidental explosion of the iPhone XS or XS Max, while it happened on the iPhone X. Currently, Apple has not issued an official statement on the incident.
