iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus Specifications

Apple offers iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in two sizes – 6.1 and 6.7 inches. Both models have Super Retina XDR displays with OLED technology that supports 1200 nits of peak HDR brightness, a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and Dolby Vision. Moreover, the front cover of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus features a durable Ceramic Shield.

Apple’s iPhone 14 series runs on the same chip as last year’s iPhones, the A15 Bionic. Both phones come with iOS 16 preinstalled. In terms of battery life, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus provide 20 hours of playback and 26 hours of playback, respectively. It takes about 30 minutes to charge them to 50% with a 20W adapter or higher. There is also wireless charging support on the phones.

With iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, Apple introduced a new 12MP f/1.5 main camera featuring a larger sensor and larger pixels and a new front 12MP f/1.9 TrueDepth camera. There is also an ultra-wide angle sensor on the back of the 14 and 14 Plus. A new Action mode is available in the camera app for recording video during the action, even when there is significant motion, shaking, or vibration.

In addition, the iPhone 14 series features a dual-core accelerometer that can measure G-forces up to 256Gs, as well as a high dynamic range gyroscope for detecting crashes. An interface for emergency services calls will appear on Apple Watch in the event of a severe crash, since the watch is closest to the user, and the call will be placed via iPhone if it is within range.

A new feature of the iPhone 14 lineup is Emergency SOS by satellite, combining custom components and software to enable antennas to connect directly to satellites, allowing users to communicate with emergency services even when they are not connected to cellular networks or Wi-Fi. For now, this feature is only available to users in the US & Canada.

In the US, Apple removed the SIM tray from iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, making it easier for users to set up their devices with eSIMs. Additionally, starting later this fall, all iPhone owners will be able to subscribe to and enjoy Apple Fitness+ in the 21 countries where it is available, regardless of whether they own an Apple Watch. The phones are also IP68 rated.

iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max Specifications

iPhone 14 Pro comes in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes, featuring a Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion that features the Always-On display, with a new 1Hz refresh rate using LTPO tech and multiple other power-efficient technologies.

Additionally, the advanced display features the same peak HDR brightness level as Pro Display XDR and the highest outdoor peak brightness in a smartphone: up to 2000 nits, two times brighter than iPhone 13 Pro. On top, there is a dynamic island that houses the front camera and other sensors for Face ID.

Due to Dynamic Island, the TrueDepth camera takes up less display space. Dynamic Island keeps the screen active without interfering with content, so users can tap and hold to access controls. Active background activities like Maps, Music, or a timer remain visible and interactive, and third-party apps in iOS 16 that provide information like sports scores and ride-sharing with Live Activities can take advantage of Dynamic Island.

Both the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max have cameras that can zoom up to 2x on the main camera, up to 3x on the Ultra Wide camera, up to 2x on the Telephoto camera, and up to 2x on the TrueDepth camera. In the Pro series, you will find a 48MP main camera with a quad-pixel sensor that adapts to the photo being captured and features second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilization.

Furthermore, there is a new 12 MP Ultra Wide camera with 1.4 million pixels. Finally, there is an improved telephoto sensor that offers 3x optical zoom. The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max come with the new TrueDepth camera with f/1.9 aperture on the front.

Pro models are equipped with the new A16 Bionic chip. In addition, it has the same features as the iPhone 14 series, including Crash Detection, eSIM-only in the US, Apple Fitness+, and Emergency SOS via Satellite feature.

There are no differences between the iPhone 14 Pro and the regular iPhone 14 models when it comes to fast charging and wireless capabilities. With the iPhone 14 Pro, the battery life can last up to 23 hours, and with the Pro Max, the battery life can last up to 29 hours. These phones are IP68-rated as well.
