Android Q Early Build Leaked in a Video, Shows Native Dark Mode, Desktop Mode, Better Permission Management, and More

Even though the release of Android Q OS is quite a few months away, the early build leak by XDA Developers took everyone by surprise, ahead of expectation. The developer build gives us our first look at some of the changes, improvements, and features that Google could introduce with Android Q. Since this an early build of the software, none of the features are set in stone as of now.

Android Q Early Build Leak

After installing Android Q early build on a Google’ recently launched flagship Pixel 3 XL, XDA Developers found a brand-new Dark theme that works throughout the OS. They also revealed few other new features on the Android Q OS like Samsung Dex like desktop mode, minor changes to UI elements, changes in Settings, more options in Developers Mode, option to turn off all sensors and more.

Android Q First Look

XDA Developers has now published a video that highlights all the new features of Google’s upcoming Android Q OS. The Android Q build was also installed on a Google Pixel 3 and was compared to a Google Pixel 2 running Android P. You can see some minor changes in the system, starting from the lock screen in the video. The developer preview gives us the first look at how the Dark mode looks like, additionally there is also a useful new feature that shows which apps are using system apps such as the camera, microphone, and location. Another major revamp is sliding notifications towards the right to dismiss them, whereas sliding them towards left opens notification buttons and snooze icon. The early build release of Android Q OS gives us our first look at how the UI will look.
