With the iPhone X, the Cupertino-based tech giant ushered in a mini tech-revolution with one of its design features: the notch. After all, a revolution is something where people follow the ideology left, right and centre. The same has happened with the notch.
Honor 10 (Price: Rs.32,999):
The Honor 10 features a 5.84-inch full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and the notch. It is powered by the company’s latest octa-core Kirin 970 processor paired with 6GB RAM and offers 128GB of internal storage. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.1 interface and is powered by a 3400mAh battery with support for fast charging.
LG G7+ ThinQ (Price: Rs.39,990):
Launched recently, the LG G7+ ThinQ has a notch on the top of its 6.1-inch QHD+ FullVision display and a new second screen, which is essentially the area on either side of the notch. Powering the handset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clubbed with 6GB RAM. LG G7+ ThinQ backed by a 3000mAh battery that also supports wireless charging.
Huawei P20 Pro (Price: Rs.64,999):
The world’s first smartphone with a triple rear camera, Huawei P20 Pro too has a notch similar to iPhone X on it’s 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED display. Backed by a 4000mAh battery, the device is powered by an octa-core Kirin 970 processor and offers 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage.
Vivo V9 (Price: Rs.23,990):
The company’s flagship smartphone V9 also has an iPhone X-like ‘notch display’. It has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD “FullView” display with 2280×1080 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. In other specs, Vivo V9 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It features a 24MP selfie camera along with f/2.0 aperture and a dual rear camera setup of 16MP and a 5MP.
Oppo F7 (Price: Rs.21,990 to Rs.26,990):
Oppo’s flagship smartphone too comes with an iPhone X-like display. It features a 6.23-inch display with 1080×2280 pixel resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Oppo F7 has an iPhone X-like notch on the top. It boasts of the AI beauty 2.0 powered 25-megapixel front-facing camera and a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash.
Oneplus6 (Price: Rs.34,999):
The latest smartphone to sport the ‘much-famed’ notch in Oneplus 6. The device offers a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It runs on Qualcomm’s flagship processor Snapdragon 845 and Adreno 630 GPU. Oneplus 6 comes in two RAM and internal storage capacities.
Asus Zenfone 5Z (Price: Rs.29,999):
The flagship smartphone from Asus was launched at the Mobile World Congress 2018. The iPhone X-like notch marks a major design change for the Zenfone series smartphone. In terms of specs, the handset has a 6.2-inch full HD+ IPS display with 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
Research company Counterpoint has forecasted that approximately 300 million smartphones sporting the notch will be launched in 2018. Of these, 55 percent will be Android phones and the remaining 45 percent will be from Apple.
